Deuteronomy 16-17, Luke 9:7-27, Psalm 72, Proverbs 12:8-9

Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? 26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27 But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

From the eyes of a child, what does taking up the cross means? To my boy, what is then to follow Jesus and seek not the world and put Christ as everything?

To my boy, study hard is his job. He need to do well on par with the ability God has given him. As parent, I will mould him and guide him, so that he will show his best potential. It is not about following the flow, nor about gaining a good result and to be among the very top as the main priority.

To the adult, the focus is on Christ, but again, not to be fool or slugguard! In all we do, remmeber Christ, it is all about Christ. Christ first, Christ is important and in all I do I do it for the sake of Christ who love me.

In the same way, I told Josef that he should remember Christ, the talent God gave him, his results, his good works all reflect on God. Remember Jesus, and remember the heartbeat of God. In all he do, least that he remember to give glory and give testimony to God and in doing so, tell them about Jesus who die for Josef and die for all of us.

Remember the heartbeat of the Father. In the daily flow of life, remember - gain the world world for Christ and not gain the world for yourself and in doing so, forfeits your life. This is not a passive or a consolation statement - "well I not not that good as my peer, but so what - why busy like them, earn so much, so what gain the world and loses your life..."

It is about the heartbeat of the Father.
